BEST PHOTOGRAPHY LOCATIONS IN MADISON, ALABAMA AND SURROUNDING AREAS
North AL has many beautiful spots to visit. In this blog post I’m going to list a few of my favorite places for photography. You will find a little bit of everything, from city vibes like Downtown Madison or Huntsville to secluded places like Triana Boat Ramp in addition to must visit places like Weathington Park with its breathtaking views. DOWNTOWN MADISON, ALABAMA
Madison is located 11 miles north of Huntsville. Madison Station is at the heart of the city and is home to Victorian, Craftsman and Colonial architecture. This beautiful downtown boasts several wonderful photo opportunities including a gazebo, a park with benches, historic homes as well as a train that still runs through town!
WEATHINGTON PARK, SECTION ALABAMA
Weathington Park in Alabama offers a serene escape with its lush greenery, walking trails, and picturesque landscapes with the view of Lake Guntersville. This hidden gem provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation, outdoor activities, and amazing sunsets. Undoubtedly an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts and families alike.
LADY ANN LAKE – HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA
Lady Ann Lake is located in Huntsville, AL and is approximately 106 acres. Here you can fish, feed the ducks, walk the trails and even boat. You will find a beautiful gazebo, a wood bridge, and little “islands” that are perfect backdrops for your pictures as well as amazing sunsets if you go during golden hour.
TRIANA BOAT RAMP – TRIANA, ALABAMA
Triana Boat Ramp is a boat launch on Wheeler Lake in the small town of Triana, Alabama. Here you can find picnic tables, an area full of tables for activities, amazing backdrops, a boat ramp, areas to walk and spots for fishing. It’s a little hidden spot that not many people know about so it’s also very relaxing.
MEADOW CREEK FARM – TONEY, ALABAMA
Meadow Creek farm provides a barn situated on six acres in Toney, Alabama, with gorgeous backdrops of the countryside, a two-acre pond and an outdoor pavilion. Inside the barn there is a dressing area for the bridal party, a gentleman’s loft and a catering kitchen. It can accommodate up to 250 guests. What a lovely venue for your next photo shoot, wedding or special occasion!
HUNTSVILLE BOTANICAL GARDENS
The Huntsville Botanical Gardens is situated on 118 acres in Huntsville, Alabama, with numerous shaded foot paths. You can find a butterfly house, water fountains and bridges and various aquatic displays. The Garden also provides a gorgeous backdrop for weddings and celebrations and boasts indoor and outdoor venues.
BURRITT ON THE MOUNTAIN
Located on Round Top Mountain in the heart of Huntsville, this is a beautiful 167-acre park. Best known for its views overlooking the city. Burritt also boasts gorgeous photo shoot opportunities including a complete wedding venue, hiking trails full of wildflowers and magnificent autumnal colors in the fall.
DITTO LANDING – HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA
Located in South Huntsville, in the Tennessee River and surrounded by mountains. You will get amazing golden hour pictures here with amazing backdrops. There are many different areas for pictures from the walking trail, to the guest area or the little spots where you can find locals fishing and enjoying this beautiful place. Other activities other than taking amazing pictures in this beautiful South Huntsville location are boating, camping, fishing, hiking/walking, picnicking, and cycling
MOORESVILLE, ALABAMA
Mooresville is a town located between Huntsville and Decatur Alabama and north of Wheeler Lake. The town, often referred to as “Alabama’s Williamsburg,” is home to the 1840’s Post Office and the 1821 Stagecoach Inn and Tavern. The 1839 Brick Church and the 1854 Church of Christ where President James A. Garfield once preached are also located here. Furthermore Mooresville is now included in the current listings of the National Register of Historic Places and has wonderful photo opportunities including a wedding venue, tree-lined parks in addition to beautiful gardens.
